Questo è il primo dei 5 libri della saga Eroi dell'Olimpo, questo libro ha ricevuto recensioni contrastanti ma nonostante questo ha ricevuto il premio Barnes & Noble come miglior libro nel 2010 però voglio ricordare che in Italia il libro è uscito solamente nel 2013. Il libro è in terza persona dove si passa dal punto di vista di: Piper,Jason,Leo.Al contrario della saga di Percy Jackson nonostante i fatti si svolgano nello stesso mondo.

Il libro comincia con un ragazzo Jason Grace che si risveglia all'interno di uno scuolabus non ricordando nulla del suo passato,si trova seduto accanto a una bellissima ragazza di nome Piper Mclean proveniente da una famiglia cherokee da parte del nonno paterno, e accanto a Leo Valdez che dice di essere il suo migliore amico. Insieme stanno facendo una gita con la scuola della natura, una scuola per ragazzi problematici, per esempio Piper ha chiesto se poteva guidare una Bmw e il venditore ha acconsentito nonostante tutti pensano che l' abbia rubata. invece quando arrivarono al Grand Canyon destinazione della loro meta dei venti li assalirono però scamparono anche grazie al loro coach Edge il quale i venti lo rapirono, intanto Annabeth Chase sta cercando il suo fidanzato scomparso dal campo mezzosangue, successivamente Piper,Leo e Jason scopriranno che sono semidei Greci.(...).                                                                                                                                  
A parer mio è un' ottimo libro di un'ottima saga quindi se la volete leggere io ve la consiglio però dal primo

In my opinion is a 'great book by a great saga so if I want to read I recommend, however, from the first

Questa invece è una saga scritta più di recente infatti il primo libro è stato scritto nel 2013 è racconta le vicende di 5 semidei Greci e Romani che lottano contro il risveglio di Gea la madre terra che ha dalla sua parte un' orda di mostri. Percy Jackson e gli Dei dell'Olimpo è una saga scritta da Rick Riordan composta da 5 libri a tema fantasy come si deduce dal titolo della saga,e,nonostante la vicenda sia ambientata in America si parla di Dei Greci.il primo libro"Il ladro di fulmini"
e stato tratto anche un film, e parla di un ragazzo Percy Jackson che a 12 anni scopre che è un semidio cioè una persona nata con un genitore divino, nel caso di Percy è il padre divino infatti è Poseidone, e il Monte Olimpo è al 600 piano dell' empire state building a New York in questi libri dovrà affrontare varie avventure trà cui uccidere Medusa

Percy Jackson and the Olympians is a saga written by Rick Riordan composed of 5 books fantasy theme as can be deduced from the title of the saga, and although the story is set in America we speak of Gods Greci.il first book "The lightning thief"and it was made into a film, and is about a boy Percy Jackson discovers that 12 years is a demigod that a person born with a divine parent, in the case of Percy is the divine father is Poseidon fact, and Mount Olympus is the 600 floor of 'empire state building in New York these books will have to face various adventures between  which to kill Medusa.

in Italia però diventerà notò solamente nel 2010 quando la casa editrice Mondadori pubblicherà Percy Jackson e il ladro di fulmini primo di una serie che ha affascinato milioni di lettori sia ragazzi che adulti. Invece nel 2012 uscirà in Italia la piramide rossa primo libro della saga The Kane crhonacles seguito poi da altri 2 romanzi della stessa saga. Poi nel 2013 uscirà Eroi dell'Olimpo che si concluderà nel 2015 con il sangue dell' Olimpo. Ivece molto più recente è la saga Magnus Chase e gli dei di Asgard, il quale primo libro la spada del guerriero è uscito nel 2015, il secondo invece è uscito verso la fine del 2016. Attualmente Rick Riordan vive a Boston sposato e con 2 figli.
